Since you're here... have some super secret gamer tips for KittyToy!
Kitties lose happiness if any of their needs are empty, but as long as all their needs are met, their happiness increases slowly over time.
You can pet kitties with your cursor, which (aside from melting your heart) increases their happiness.
Sleeping in beds (but not boxes), playing with yarn balls, and eating KittyYumz or tuna fill kitty happiness directly.
Cats only play with balls if they see them moving, but if they're bored enough, they'll play with the other toys without prompting.
Leaving out more food affects the rate at which new kitties arrive, whereas more toys (and also scratch posts) will increase the limit of how many kitties can be present at once.
The more expensive the food, the more of an effect it has on kitty visit rate (but yummier foods are more enticing to kitties, even if they aren't very hungry, so the food goes fast!)
Balloons are only worth half a toy, while scratch posts (including couches and cat grass) are worth two toys.
There are no hard caps on the rate/limit of visiting kitties, but there are diminishing returns on both after a point.
Adopting kitties is an investment. As long as you keep them happy, they regularly give you the full 10 kittycoins, without having to raise happiness from scratch as you have to do with stray kitties. The only downside is not getting to enjoy the variety of visiting kitties!
Not really tips, but here are some fun facts about the game ^^
Kitties have unique personalities; their favored activities are actually determined largely by their stats, which are determined by randomly distributing 6 points across their different stats (except for speed).
This results in kitties with 7 points in one stat being exceptionally rare! (approx. 1 in 4,000)
Most of the rare kitties are named after cats from my life, or named after friends who helped test the game.
As of 0.7.2 there are 99 prefixes, 396 names, 27 suffixes, 142 statuses, 21 fur types, and 22 rare kitties in the game.
This brings us to 1,108,822 possible unique kitty name combinations
(though since suffixes and prefixes are a bit uncommon, it's not extremely rare to get repeat names with no suffix/prefix)
